Helping Women Entrepreneurs
Not only does WDB support rural women entrepreneurs through its Micro Finance programme, but the WDB Investment Holdings division of the Group has over the years supported women entrepreneurs within the corporate sphere of our networks.
Although we are not able to provide financial assistance, we have been able to assist with business linkages into our investment partners, business mentoring, corporate governance, and office space and infrastructure at our head office.
We are currently assisting the following businesses directly:
Puo Educational Products- a small business supported by WDBIH,'puo' meaning language in Sesotho develops educational products for children from the context of Africa's languages,cultures and sights & sounds
Mintbrooke Investments – 41% in a small business owned and managed by women to service lottery terminals and offer other general electronics services
Winning Business Systems – 20% in a small business providing basic business skills training to entrepreneurs in the SMME space
Gerri Engelmann & Associates – WDBIH supports this small business, which provides educational support and bursary management services

To further support women entrepreneurs, WDB is a member of the Global Banking Alliance (GBA) for women. The GBA is a consortium of financial institutions that have successfully leveraged the women's market for profit.
