Our Investments - Overview
WDB Investment Holdings' (WDBIH) mandate is to create value by building up a portfolio of investments and repatriating the profits through to the Trust for disbursement to the Group's socio – development programmes. From its humble beginnings in 1997 to date WDBIH has repatriated over R45 million to the Trust.
WDBIH is also committed to ensuring the economic empowerment of women within its underlying investments through placements, skills transfer and supply chain opportunities for SMMEs.
Its vision is to:
1. Promote the economic empowerment and social upliftment of women in South Africa
2. Make equity investments in high growth businesses in order to fund the development programmes of the WDB Trust
3. Have meaningful operational and strategic influence and to add value in our equity investments
4. Encourage and facilitate skills transfer, training and business ownership by women in our investments
5. Drive sustainable transformational change within our investments in terms of employment equity, skills development and procurement
